Nassau Runs Over Region XV Golf Championship

The Nassau Lions led after day 1 of the Region XV Golf Tournament and never left a doubt that they'd grab the title. Nassau was the convincing team champion with a two day score of 655. Westchester (749), the tournament's surprise team, finished second. All the action took place at the Phillip J. Rotella Golf Course in Thiells.

After shooting an opening round score of 71, Nassau's Chris Lambrou tallied a three-under-par 68 and netted a total score of 139. He earned 2015 Region XV Golf Tournament Medalist honors and was 22 strokes better than teammate Steve Lobman (76-85-161).

Along with Nassau, the following individuals qualified for the NJCAA Tournament:

Marcus Cigna - Orange

Dan Pavlu - Orange

Emilio Ruiz - Rockland

Andre Manginelli - Ulster

Troy Farley - Ulster

The NJCAA Division III Tournament will take place from June 2-5 at Chautauqua Golf Course in Chautauqua, NY.
