Nassau Community College Men's Golf Finishes Eighth At 2023 NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships
Chautauqua, New York - The Nassau Community College men's golf team their season with an eighth-place finish at the 2023 NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships June 6-9 at Chautauqua Golf Course in Chautauqua, New York.
Sandhills Community College took home their third straight NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship with three of their top four golfers finishing in the top four spots on the leaderboard, led by Ben Read's total of 277 and 11 under par performance.
2023 Region 15 Player of the Year Kevin O'Rourke led the way for the Lions top four that placed eight with a score of 326 with O'Rourke putting together the best score of the top four with 311, posting rounds of 76 and 75 in the first two rounds and 80 during the last two rounds. O'Rourke also was the Region's top individual tying for 21st out of 66 competitors.
Brody Wynn followed in 26th overall individually with a score of 315, while Michael Cataro and Brett Shield finished in a tie for 42nd and 59th with scores of 336 and 357.
Westchester Community College's Joseph Doninquez and Orange County Community College's Michael Fuchs also competed, finishing the Championship with scores of 368 and 376.
