No. 2 Nationally Ranked Nassau C.C. Men's Lacrosse Carries Four Game Winning Streak Into Regular Season Finale Against No. 1 Harford C.C.

Columbia, Maryland - The NJCAA Men's Lacrosse No. 2 nationally ranked Nassau Community College Lions Men's Lacrosse team is humming at the right time, carrying a four-game winning streak into a battle of last year's 2023 National Championship Game against Harford Community College after beating Howard Community College 11-6 last week.
The Lions dominated the Dragons, getting two hat tricks from sophomores Christian Maisel and James Hegel. Maisel buried a career-high four goals while Hegel netted three. Charles Andrea also had a multi-goal game with two goals, while Nick Cuppelli led the Lions with 10 shots.
Tyler Kuprianchik was tremendous from the X, winning 10 of 19 faceoffs in the contest.
Nassau led Howard in shots with a 39-33 advantage and jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one quarter of play, with two of the goals coming from Andrea. Maisel notched his second of the game to give the Lions a 5-0 lead at the 14:13 mark before Howard C.C. went on a 4-0 to close the second quarter, getting within one, 5-4 at halftime.
After Gianni Karam's man-up goal got the Dragons within one, 6-5, the Lions took over the rest of the way. Nassau scored the next two goals on a man-up opportunity from Maisel at 9:23 and even strength from Hegel at 5:58 to make it 8-5. The Lions scored three of the next four goals, with all three coming in the fourth quarter, to take the game 11-6 and improve to 7-1 overall this season.
Going into their finale in a battle of last year's national championship game against Harford Community College, Nassau Community College ranks first in the nation in faceoff percentage (76.8) and save percentage (.600). The Lions are second in the county in goals against (64), third in the country in man-up goals (15) and clear percentage (81.2), fifth in goals per game (15.13), and sixth in goals (121) and assists (72).
The Lions have six players with 10 or more goals, led by Jack Lepore's 18 tallies. Maisel and Hegel are second and third with 17 and 15 goals, respectively. Joe Lazazzaro and Cuppelli have 11 and 10 goals, while Brady Dolan has dished out a team-high 19 assists, which is also ranked seventh in the nation.
Kuprianchik is one of the best faceoff men in America, leading Nassau Community College with a team-high 89 groundballs, 132 faceoffs won, and 168 faceoffs attempted, which are also tied for second and good for third in the country, respectively.
Colin Hamilton and Michael Tittman have been excellent in net for the Lions, ranking second and third in the country with a .614 and .602 save percentage. Hamilton and Tittmann are also third and fifth in the country in goals against at 7.77 and 8.52.
