Cherlialix Carmona of the Express Named Region 15 Division III Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Month

BRONX – Cherlialix Carmona, of Monroe University – Bronx, has been named the Region 15 Division III Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Month.

During August and September, Carmona notched 101 kills, 47 digs, and 18 service aces. She produced a hitting percentage of .250.

The sophomore outside hitter tallied 20 kills, eight digs, and a pair of assists against Region 15 contender Westchester Community College on September 27. She also compiled 18 kills on two separate occasions, one of which was against then nationally ranked No. 4 Finger Lakes Community College to open the season on August 30. 

Thanks to Carmona's strong play, Monroe – Bronx is 8-3 overall and 5-1 in the region.
