No. 9 Suffolk County Wins Region 15 Men's Soccer Championship

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Top-seeded and nationally ranked No. 9 Suffolk County Community College captured the 2025 Region 15 Men's Soccer Championship by defeating second-seeded Ulster County Community College, 2-0, at Mitchel Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon. 

Suffolk County now earns an automatic bid into the NJCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament which will take place from November 11 until November 16 at Herkimer College in Herkimer, N.Y. 

The Sharks struck early as Steven Vargas netted the official match-winning goal just 1:12 into the contest. Jazai Kidd provided the assist on the play. Suffolk Country struck again in the 50th minute as Nicholas Rojas fed the ball to Carlos Alay who rifled the ball into the back of the net to extend the Sharks' benefit to 2-0 and that ended up being the final score. 

Benjamin Allen stopped all six shots he faced to earn the shutout victory for Suffolk County.

The NJCAA Selection Show will take place on Tuesday, at 5:30 p.m. eastern time., on the NJCAA Network. It will reveal the full NJCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament bracket.
