Monroe Express and Bronx Broncos Earn Berths in NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament Bracket has been released. Monroe - Bronx Express earned a bye into the NJCAA Quarterfinals. The Bronx Broncos were awarded an at-large bid. Both teams will compete in Brownwood, Texas next week. All games will take place at Brownwood Coliseum.
Monroe enters the national postseason as the #4-seed and will play its first game on Thursday, March 12, at 3 p.m. EDT/2 p.m. CDT against the winner of the #5-seed Fulton - Montgomery Community College and #12-seed Rowan College South Jersey - Gloucester.
The Express captured the Region 15 and Northeast District Championships by earning a come-from-behind victory over Kingsborough Community College, 56-55 in overtime, at Brookhaven Gymnasium this past Sunday afternoon.
Bronx will be the #9-seed and take on #8-seed Onondaga Community College on Wednesday, March 12, at 1 p.m. EDT/noon CDT.
The Broncos went 18-4 and captured the CUNYAC Championship with a 79-57 victory over the Wave back on February 20 at BMCC Gymnasium.
