Nassau Captures Second Straight Region 15 Men's Volleyball Championship
GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – For the second year in a row, the Nassau Community College men's volleyball team captured the Region 15 Championship. The Lions earn an automatic bid into the inaugural NJCAA Men's Volleyball Championship Tournament which will take place at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill. on April 23-25.
Nassau defeated Kingsborough Community College in the regional semifinal earlier in the day. Borough of Manhattan Community College topped Monroe University – Bronx, 3-0, in the other semifinal match,
After that, the Lions knocked off the Panthers in straight sets to capture the regional title. Set scores for the championship contest were 25-20, 26-24, and 25-22.
Thomas Wildeman was named Most Outstanding Player of the Region 15 Tournament. He slammed 12 kills and had seven digs during the regional title game.
