Dutchess and Suffolk County to Compete in Region 15 Softball Championship Series This Weekend

BRENTWOOD, N.Y. – The Region 15 Softball Championship Series has been set. It will be a best-of-three series between #2-seed Dutchess Community College and top-seeded/nationally ranked No. 8 Suffolk County Community College. The winner of the series will capture the Region 15 Title and earn a berth in the Northeast Distirct Championship Series the following weekend. 

Games 1 and 2 will be on Saturday at noon and 2pm. Game 3, if necessary, will take place on Sunday at noon.

All three games will be played on the Brentwood campus of Suffolk County Community College.

The Falcons (13-7, 5-3 Region 15) earned its spot in the Region 15 Championship Series after defeating Monroe University – Bronx in the regional first-round series, two games to one. Here are the results of each game from the previous series:

Game 1 (April 28): Dutchess 11, Monroe – Bronx 7

Game 2 (April 28): Monroe – Bronx 10, Dutchess 8

Game 3 (April 29): Dutchess 9, Monroe – Bronx 7

Dutchess will look to defend its regional title. Suffolk County (15-9, 7-1 Region 15) aims to win its first region championship since 2023.
