The Falcons Are Dancing! Dutchess Community College Captures Region 15 Championship Over Nassau C.C.

Brooklyn, New York - The third-seeded Dutchess Community College men's basketball team came into the Region 15 Men's Basketball Championship over the weekend firing on all cylinders and capped it off with a 68-61 victory over top seed Nassau Community College on Sunday afternoon at Kingsborough Gymnasium. The Falcons will head to Herkimer Community College for the 2023 NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship, with the victory extending their winning streak to five and improving to 18-11. The Lions drop to 22-5 on the season with the loss.

Dutchess Community College finished the game with four players scoring in double figures. Jeremiah Williams was named the 2023 Region XV Tournament MVP, who led all scorers with a team-high 19 points and controlled the game's pace throughout. Jacob Barnett chipped in with 15 points with some clutch buckets in the second half to keep the lead intact, finishing the tournament with 14.5 points per game average. Nashaun Johnson scored 12 points and knocked down a team-best three treys, all in the second half, while Victor Potter Jr. added 10 points of his own with multiple big-time blocks and was named to the 2023 Region XV All-Tournament Team.
