#3 Nassau Lacrosse Tops #4 Onondaga

Result

The #3 Nassau Community College men's lacrosse team defeated Onondaga Community College by a score of 17-6 on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened

• In the team's first game against a nationally ranked opponent this season, Nassau came out firing with five unanswered goals in the first quarter before Onondaga scored their first with 22 seconds remaining.
• Onondaga scored first in the second quarter, before Nassau answered back with three more. The Lions led 8-2 at halftime.
• Jake Lewis scored a man-up goal just 17 seconds into the third quarter, as Onondaga still had a penalty from the first half.
• Jack Lepore then scored four consecutive goals to widen the gap for Nassau at 13-2.
• Onondaga scored a man-up goal with 5:05 left in the third after a Nassau slashing penalty.
• After ending the third quarter with a score of 15-4, both teams netted two more in the fourth quarter for a final score of 17-6.
• Nassau took 46 (33 SOG) total shots, compared to 25 (19 SOG) by Onondaga.
• As a team, Nassau shot 72% on goal.

• Jack Lepore led the team with seven goals and three assists, for 10 points, along with six ground balls.
• Jake Lewis totaled six goals and two assists. He took 11 shots, all on target.
• Lepore & Lewis are tied for most goals in the NJCAA with 16.
• Brady Dolan contributed one goal and four assists.
• Anthony Parisi, Cameron Clarke, and Mark Griffin each notched a goal.
• GianMarco Priola totaled four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
• Michael Zecchini went 18-24 in the faceoff circle with 10 ground balls.
• Goalkeeper Conor Dobson earned the win in net with six saves.
