Nassau Men's Lacrosse's Successful Season Ends with Loss in NJCAA National Championship Game

The Nassau Community College Men's Lacrosse team capped off an impressive 2025 season by battling its way to the NJCAA National Championship Final, notching a thrilling semifinal win over CCBC Essex before falling to an undefeated Harford squad in the title game.

Semifinal Showdown: Nassau 17, CCBC Essex 15

In a high-intensity semifinal clash on May 10, Nassau edged out perennial powerhouse CCBC Essex, 17–15, to punch their ticket to the national championship game. The Lions delivered a complete team effort with Jake Lewis leading the charge, netting 5 goals and 2 assists, including the go-ahead goal with under a minute left.

Brady Dolan added three goals and one assist, including the dagger goal as time expired, while Jack Lepore and Ryan Krudis contributed key scores in the final stretch. Goalie Conor Dobson came up with 14 saves, helping Nassau withstand a furious fourth-quarter rally by Essex.

Nassau's relentless offense and composure under pressure proved the difference, with nine different players tallying points in a true team victory.

Championship Final: Nassau 10, Harford 20

On May 11, the Lions faced top-seeded and unbeaten Harford Community College in the national title game. Nassau came out firing, jumping to an early 3–0 lead behind quick strikes from Lewis and Lepore. But Harford responded with six straight goals and never looked back, eventually claiming a 20–10 win and the national crown.

Despite the loss, Nassau battled to the final whistle. Lewis again led the offense with four goals, while Lepore added three goals and two assists. Dolan chipped in with one goal and three assists, continuing his standout postseason.


A Season to Remember

Nassau finishes the season 10–3 overall, claiming a Region XV title and a runner-up finish on the national stage. Led by a strong core of sophomores and rising talent, the Lions demonstrated toughness, talent, and heart all season long.

With standout performers like Lewis, Dolan, Lepore, and Dobson, Nassau proved once again that it belongs among the nation's lacrosse elite.
