Sullivan Generals Win Women's Basketball Region XV Championship
Middletown, New York - The #1 seeded Sullivan Generals beat #2 seed Westchester CC in the 2023 NJCAA Women's Basketball Region XV Championships hosted at Sullivan C.C. by an impressive score of 65-28, improving to 18-9 on the year and will face Niagara County Community College in the NJCAA Div. II East B District Championship game this Saturday, March 4, at 4:30.
Sullivan controlled the entire game and won all four quarters en route to the Championship. Brieanna Maple led all scorers with a team-high 14 points, knocking down four three points and shooting 50% from beyond the arc. Maple was also named the 2023 Region 15 Tournament MVP after the game, while 2023 Region 15 Player of the Year Deivejon Harris put up a double-double in the contest with a team-high 13 rebounds and scored 12 points. Harris also turned away three shots on the afternoon, and Mei-Lin Calliste added 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the win, while Tamari Hubbard grabbed 10 rebounds with 2 points.
The Generals will have the home court advantage this Saturday, facing Niagara County C.C. in the Bunker of the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse at 4:30 p.m.
