Bronx, New York – Freshman Lea Reimer continued to rewrite the BMCC women's cross country program record books at the 2023 CUNYAC Cross Country Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on a damp and rainy Sunday morning, capturing the Conference's Community College Individual Championship as the top finisher among Junior College competitors with a school record second place finish overall amongst an outstanding field of 63 runners from NCAA and NJCAA program. Reimer finished in the top ten for the second time this season after accomplishing the same feat in her Collegiate debut at the Mt. St. Mary Invitational a month ago when she finished tenth.
Reimer became the first Panther runner in school history to take home the Individual Community College Cross Country Crown, crossing the tape with a time of 28:00.6, just a minute behind the 2023 CUNYAC Four Year Women's Cross Country Individual Champion Paz Moran, who finished with a time of 26:48.4.
After an outstanding season, Reimer will take on one more challenge to the season as she will be running in this year's 2023 New York City Marathon next Sunday, November 5th.
